About Me

I’ve been designing for the Web and studying usability since 1996, and have a further background in graphic design, illustration, and fine art. I have extensive experience creating graphics for the Web, as well as color-correcting and manipulating photographs. Over the years I’ve also gained a variety of editorial experience, becoming especially skilled in writing navigational language and organizing information for the Web.

me and EricMe and my husband, Eric Malone, some years ago in Somerville, MA.

Currently I am the Director of Electronic Communications/Web Designer at Amherst College, where I've been skinning our new Drupal-based content management system, and managing many aspects of the college site. We're embarking on an inhouse redesign of the whole site (the present design was based on that of a vendor, who designed Amherst's Admission site in 2005). Visit my Amherst page to learn more.

About This Site

I designed this site in Fireworks (the best web-graphics program ever — if Adobe messes it up, I'm changing careers), and wrote the XHTML and CSS to be standards-compliant and accessible.
