About MeI’ve been designing for the Web and studying usability since 1996, and have a further background in graphic design, illustration, and fine art. I have extensive experience creating graphics for the Web, as well as color-correcting and manipulating photographs. Over the years I’ve also gained a variety of editorial experience, becoming especially skilled in writing navigational language and organizing information for the Web.
Me and my husband, Eric Malone, some years ago in Somerville, MA. Currently I am the Director of Electronic Communications/Web Designer at Amherst College, where I've been skinning our new Drupal-based content management system, and managing many aspects of the college site. We're embarking on an inhouse redesign of the whole site (the present design was based on that of a vendor, who designed Amherst's Admission site in 2005). Visit my Amherst page to learn more.
I designed this site in Fireworks (the best web-graphics program ever — if Adobe messes it up, I'm changing careers), and wrote the XHTML and CSS to be standards-compliant and accessible.
